UCA's Insurance Education Institute is a 3-hour graduate level course covering the fundamental principles of risk management and insurance. The institutes are virtually free to eligible teachers, thanks to the Griffith Foundation for Insurance Education, which provides scholarships, payable directly to UCA, that covers the cost of books, materials, and tuition for the course. The Griffith Foundation for Insurance Education scholarship includes the cost of housing participants in New Hall, one of UCA's nicest dormitories, plus the cost of meals - while attending the week-long on-campus part of the institute.
UCA's Institutes have two components: on-line and on-campus. Both parts are required.
The risk management and insurance content is delivered online, beginning in early March, using Blackboard, a popular platform that allows colleges and universities to host classes on the World Wide Web. All assignments, including key terms quizzes, video lectures, review quizzes, and tests are delivered via Blackboard.
